Sick as a Dog

Monday, November 29th, 2004

Dog Sick ToiletEveryone here has been sick for days. I woke up feeling ill last Tuesday. Since then, everyone in this house has come down with something nasty.

I’ve pretty much quaranteened myself to my room since I started feeling crappy. I’m starting to have feel a bit of cabin feaver setting in. Lucky for me, I’m pretty much a cave troll anyway. I’ve been shying away from sunlight or any type of daytime outdoor exposure for some years now. My feeling is, people can completely control their environments, why the hell should they put up whatever the hell the earth has in mind for them.

Forget that I’ve got a heater and a fan in here. I’ve got lights and room darkening shades. I decide how this place will feel. I am in control. And if you don’t like it, Earth, fuck you.

Impressed by: Sonic.net

Monday, November 22nd, 2004

I have to say, I am so far, quite impressed with Sonic.net. I’ve always gotten a person on the phone quickly. They have always been helpful. I was having some slowdown a week or so ago, so I gave them a call. Someone from Sonic just called me to checkup! Now, those of you who do not have experience with DSL providers aren’t really impressed right now, but those of you who are like me, and have been through hours upon hours of frustration know what a big deal that is. I whole heartedly recommend Sonic.net to any of you out there who are in need of some good DSL with good customer service.

How the Web Works

Wednesday, November 17th, 2004

Hello everybody-

It’s been a bit since my last post, but I hope you haven’t forgotten me. I just wanted to let you all know, I have updated my geek blog with some (I hope) interesting stuff about how the web works. I would recommend that even some of you non-geeks out there look it up, especially if you’re a blogger. I’m gonna do a couple more articles in the near future, to sort of finish the topic up. I’m also working on an HTML for the Blogger article that you may enjoy. I’ll let you know when that little nugget of joy is ready for ya.

Me, preparing some nuggets of joy to snack on.

Geek Blog!

Wednesday, November 10th, 2004

I’ve decided to move all my geekish blog stuff to a separate page. I figure, this will spare those of you who have no interest in that crap as well as sparing the geeks my personal notes.

Check it out at http://geekblogthatnoonereads.blogspot.com!

Little Jeffy Goes to War

Tuesday, November 9th, 2004

Jeff with big gunJeff’s not actually going to war. He’s in some training thing for being a body guard or something crazy like that. He’s pictured here, learning to shoot a rifle at fluffy bunnies.

Comensating for something, are we Jeffy?

Cruisin’

Monday, November 8th, 2004

Departure time is 4:30pm, Saturday, October 30, 2005. It’s both forever away and far too soon.

I’ve been planning a cruise for Kristen and myself for the last few months. I finally took the plunge today and put the deposit down on the trip. Boy oh boy am I ever excited. Plus, its Halo night. 5 hours and counting until i’ll have it in my hands. I think I’m still going to be awake from today when I get in to work tomorrow. I’m so excited, its difficult even to sit here and work on this boring project. But I’ll suffer through it. I need the bucks.

Nintendo apologizes to the Suicide Girls

Tuesday, November 2nd, 2004

In this letter [BoingBoing.net], Nintendo apologizes for going all crazy about one of the Suicide Girls writing that Metroid was one of her favorite games in her profile. I haven’t had a chance to see what Suicide Girls is all about, but word on the street is, it contains Goth chicks in the buff.

I can sorta see where Nintendo is coming from. Zelda.com was, at one point, a dirty, nasty porn site. Don’t get me wrong; I have no problems with porn in general, but targeting franchises you know children are going to go looking for is just wrong. I really don’t know why porn sites would want to attract kids anyway. It’s not like the kids have money in any form that they can spend online. The best they’re gonna get are some advertising click-throughs.

Anyway, Nintendo has been pretty active about going after these creeps, which I appreciate and apparently the cease and desist they sent to the Suicide Girls was a mistake.

Nintendo, it seems, is big enough to admit their mistake and make a mends. Now if only they would apolgize for not putting online play on the Gamecube.

Super Halloween Happy Funtime

Tuesday, November 2nd, 2004

CIMG1631Halloween was pretty cool. Kristen and I made really cool pumpkins and I got to play with my Dremel.

We got the stencils from Homestarrunner.com. Kristen made Trogdor and Homsar. I made old timey Strong Bad.
