To Be 21
Friday, February 18th, 2005Seven Days to Go
Here’s the interesting part, though: I’m not excited about being able to drink. I mean, come on. It’s not like being less than 21 actually keeps people from purchasing or consuming alcohal. To me, its more about the age. I hate the idea that I’m restricted by my age. Age is such a horrible thing to judge people by. There should be a test or something.
I mean, I was a responsible drinker at 17. I’m one of the most responsible people I know when it comes to that stuff. Yet, the number of days I’ve been alive deems me unworthy of even picking up a bottle of wine to cook with. There are tons of people out there that should NOT be allowed to drink. Most of them are well over 21. Its such a silly criteria.
The part that really chaps my ass though, is not the drinking, its the getting into clubs and whatnot. I’m not really the kind of person that’s into that scene, but still. Kristen is a couple years older than me, as are her friends. It sucks when everyone is going somewhere and I have to go home instead because my ID won’t get me through the door.
Anyway, none of that matters much anymore, for I will be 21 in only 7 days. In honor of this, I think I’ll put a little counter up on the sidebar there. Look for that in the next couple hours.

Wednesday, February 2nd, 2005I’m not sick very often. I’d venture its somewhere in the neighborhood of 4 days a year. But when I get sick, woa boy. Yesterday morning, I felt shitty. But it wasnt until late last night that I broke 100. Apparently, the numbers are steadily rising. Meanwhile, I’m trying to get work done. But its going slow as much of my time is absorbed in coffing, adjusting the heater and blankets, and the rest of the standard flu activities.
Here’s the weird part though. I can’t think of anybody I’ve been around that is currently, or has been sick. Is it possible this demon bug manfiested itself in my body. If that’s the case, it should have chosen a more social victim. I could maybe pass this bad-boy on to a few friends, but I’m far from the best target if the ultimate goal was global domination.
–this just in: Tycho over at Penny Arcade has got the fever too. Is it possible that I’ve aquired this bug from a who I’ve never interacted with beyond his website. Could a lowly virus survive the hunderds of miles from his keyboard to mine? I suppose there’s no way to be sure, so I choose to blame him. Tycho, you bastard-guy, I hope you’re happy with what you’ve done to me.
