Comment Spam
Tuesday, August 28th, 2007My god does this site get a lot of comment spam. If you’re wondering why it takes a little while for a comment you post to make it onto the page, it’s because this site gets about 200 spam comments a day. Because of this, I personally moderate all comments before they see the page. I’m just making sure I don’t end up with 200 ads for viagra on every page of my site. There are some tools that help, similar to how email spam filters work, that pick out most of the spam for me automatically, but I still choose to read them all manually before they go up on the site. Luckily, I get few enough comments that this is manageable. I wonder how digg does it.
Leopard Updates
Monday, August 27th, 2007I just read an interesting article that considers Apple’s new design direction for their next version of OS X, “Leopard.” He addresses the new look of the Finder and the Dock as well as Apple’s new obsession with outer space, as seen in the new app Time Machine as well as the new welcome video (available below courtesy of the You Tubes).

WNYC Radio Lab
Thursday, August 23rd, 2007I’ve been listening to a podcast called Radio Lab for the last few weeks. It is absolutely brilliant. Each episode takes on a subject such as Time, Sleep, Morality, or Stress. The production values are fantastic and the perspectives presented are interesting and captivating. I can’t get enough of this.
